How to Retrieve Deleted Videos on iPhone or iPad

Video is an option for you to record precious moments other than photos. For iOS users, generally there are three kinds of videos in iPhone or iPad: movies/TV shows purchased from iTunes Store, the videos downloaded from other Apps, and the videos made with iDevice built-in camera. The first two usually can be re-downloaded unless they’re no longer exist in remote servers, but the last one is special. The videos you made only exists in your device before you transfer or upload them to other places, so you need one of these three methods to retrieve deleted videos from iPhone /iPad.

Method 1: Restore deleted videos from Recently Deleted Folder

Once you find the videos would be deleted or lost, you should go straight to the “Recently Deleted” folder in Albums to see if they are there. This folder is a new feature started with iOS 8, and will store deleted videos for 30 days in case of users’ regret. If you’ve enabled iCloud Photo Library before you deleted the videos, you can also go iCloud website to check on ‘Recently Deleted’ folder, and download the videos onto computer.

  • Step 1: Go to Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted on iPhone or iPad.
  • Step 2: Recover your deleted videos.

Method 3: Restore deleted videos with iTunes backup

If you have an iTunes backup on computer, you can restore your device with iTunes backup straightly. Note that the restoration will erase those data you haven’t backup.

  • Step 1: Run iTunes and connect your iDevice to computer.
  • Step 2: Click on the top left iPhone/iPad icon, and click on “Restore Backup” in “Backups”.
  • Step 3: After the process is finished, you can see your videos in Photos.
