I guess for most people who use smartphone, no matter they use Android or iOS, phone battery will be one of the considerations. Recently Apple slowdown drama aroused users’s anger by intentionally slowing down older iPhone to protect poor battery. Everyone who uses iOS will enjoy its efficiency and fluency, but also complains about its short-lasting battery. So before your battery draining, it would be better to extend its life span with these little tips.
Plus, maybe some people are confusing about how to use AirDrop: you need to turn both Wifi and Bluetooth on, but you don’t need to connect any network. Then after your Apple device is paired, you can transfer files through it.
If you lost data on iPhone or iPad, you can try this software Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery to recover them.
Tip 1: Charge iPhone Before “Low Battery” Prompts
Nowadays most of smart phones use Lithium-ion batteries. We used to know “charge your electronic device after its shutdown for battery complete using”, but that’s another story with the current iPhone batteries. If you want to extend your iPhone battery life, then you’d better charge it before “Low Battery - 20% of battery remaining” pops up. Because the lifespan of iPhone batteries is actually count on Charge Cycle, which is very important to we iOS users.
Charge Cycle basically is the number of times you have consumed your battery from 100% to 0%. iPhone battery has approximately 400 charge cycle of its total capacity. Every time you charge your phone from 0% to 100% will be considered as 1 Charge Cycle. For example, if you charge your iPhone to 100% and use to 0% in one day, and then recharge it again to full power, you complete a charge cycle in one day; but if you charge your iPhone to 100% in the morning, use it to 50% in the evening and then recharge it again to 100%, that’s counted as half a charge cycle, and following this routine you will complete a charge cycle every two days, which gives you a longer iPhone battery life than those who complete a charge cycle everyday.
Every time using iPhone under 20% battery is actually draining your iPhone battery. So if you want your iPhone battery lives longer, charge it before the power goes down to 30%.
Tip 2: Close Background Apps Refresh
Smartphones now learn to prepare new information for your feed by keeping apps refresh in the background, which obviously will devour phone battery. Turn off Background Apps Refresh in the iPhone Settings > General allows you to use iPhone longer daily.Tip 3: Turn on Low Power Mode
Recently I find this feature very useful. I don’t know how many people like the previous me thinking this feature should automatically work at low power only. It’s actually very powerful especially for worn batteries to extend their daily using time. Turn on Low Power mode in Settings > Battery will instantly turn off all features unnecessary, and largely save you time until iPhone shutdown.Tip 4: Turn on Airplane Mode at Night
Have you ever woke up and found your iPhone which is supposed to be fully charged became less power than the night before? If you don’t need to receive emergency calls from hospital or anywhere late at night, you can turn on Airplane mode when you sleep to reduce battery consuming.Tip 5: Turn off AirDrop and Bluetooth
Turn off unnecessary features is a good way to save your poor battery. Although AirDrop and Bluetooth are convenient to transfer files between Apple devices without network connection, you’d better turn them off if not necessary, or they will keep searching receivers while wasting battery.Plus, maybe some people are confusing about how to use AirDrop: you need to turn both Wifi and Bluetooth on, but you don’t need to connect any network. Then after your Apple device is paired, you can transfer files through it.
Tip 6: Don’t Turn on Cellular Data and Wifi at the Same Time
Now we almost use our iPhone as another tool to surf internet. So if you rely on Safari too much, you may find that Safari occupies the biggest proportion of battery usage if you check Settings > Battery. Beside Safari, actually cellular data and Wifi also are the battery gluttons. So if you want to extend daily using time of your iPhone, it’s a good idea to turn off both cellular data and Wifi. But I guess most people now can’t live without network connection. Therefore at least just turn on one of them, and close them both if not necessary.
Tip 7: Reduce Screen Brightness
For smartphones, especially for those big-screen, screen light is the large consumption of phone battery. So for the health of your eyes and iPhone battery, you can reduce screen brightness accordingly or turn on Auto Brightness in Settings > Display & Brightness.
